D&D in the Classroom
Dungeons & Dragons in the classroom: learning through adventure
Dungeons & Dragons is more than just a game. It is a powerful educational tool that motivates pupils to learn. With our approach, schools discover how role-playing can contribute to language skills, numeracy, social skills and creativity.
What do pupils learn through D&D?
- Language skills: Describing situations, negotiating and practising new words (also ideal for NT2).
- Collaboration: Making compromises, consulting and persuading each other, communicating better and building self-confidence.
- Maths & logical thinking: Estimating distances, reading dice, planning strategies and solving puzzles.
- Creativity: Inventing characters, developing stories and coming up with original solutions.
For teachers
We help not only students, but also teachers.
In our workshops, you will learn how to use D&D in the classroom:
- we explain the basic rules and storytelling,
- give practical tips on how to tailor the game to your learning objectives,
- provide ready-made materials such as sample characters and mini-adventures.
Even without prior knowledge, you can confidently get started with your class after a workshop.
Building more together
We believe that the possibilities of Dungeons & Dragons in education are even greater. That is why we invite teachers and other Dungeon Masters to contribute their ideas:
- In which subjects can D&D play a role?
- At what age does it work best?
- What other learning objectives can be supported?
This section is non-profit: our focus is currently on research, collaboration with teachers.
